Stone Hearst is a quaint, European inspired country estate on Salt Spring Island, which is also perfect for weddings, honeymoons, vacations and special events.
Stone Hearst is located on 10 wooded acres on the north end of Salt Spring Island, a short drive from Ganges and from the BC Ferries terminal in Vesuvius and Long Harbour. Salt Spring Island is the largest of the beautiful Gulf Islands of southern British Columbia, and often referred to as “the jewel of the Southern Gulf Islands”.
Salt Spring Island is just 20 minutes by air to Vancouver’s Coal Harbour or Vancouver International Airport, or a scenic ferry ride from either Vancouver or Victoria. Stone Hearst was created over the last six years by artisans from around the world. It’s buildings feature authentic Old World wood, stone and iron finishes which combined with extensive rock work, waterfalls, tiered and sunken terraces and fountains transport you back to Renaissance times.
Highlights include extensive rock gardens, a rose garden, solid 3″ thick arched wooden doors, 12′ vaulted ceilings, commercial stove with stone hood, over-sized stone fireplaces, pond with waterfall, water features and extensive trails on and near the property.
There are also multiple cleared and level staging areas which are easily accessible for large trucks for staging weddings, film/TV productions or other special events.
This is an absolutely magical, one-of-a-kind property. We had our wedding here and it couldn’t have been more delightful. Our guests and ourselves were awestruck by the incredible detail and beauty of the house and gardens. It was truly a fairytale wedding in one of the most beautiful settings in British Columbia.
I highly recommend this stunning get-away for those who want to experience a taste of Europe on Salt Spring, not far from amenities, yet feeling distant from the hubbub of city life.
Had a very relaxing time on Salt Spring at this magical place. The gardens are stunning, the house is like a miniature French castle...we had all we needed including firewood for our evening fires in the giant fireplace.
